Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site teaching role at Horizon College International, located in Malabe. The Teacher will be responsible for creating comprehensive lesson plans, conducting engaging classroom sessions, assessing student progress, and fostering a supportive learning environment. Additional responsibilities include preparing and delivering training sessions, collaborating with other educators and parents, and supporting student development both academically and emotionally.
- Child Care Assistant
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the daily care and supervision of children
- Assist teachers and staff with classroom and activity preparations
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment
- Provide emotional and practical support to young learners
Educational Background & Requirements:
- Certificate or Diploma in Child Care / Early Childhood Education preferred
- Experience working with children will be an advantage
- Caring, patient, and energetic personality
- Good interpersonal skills
2. Teacher for Special Needs Students / Learning Support Students
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support and instruction for students with special educational needs
- Develop inclusive learning strategies and classroom activities
- Work closely with parents and academic staff to monitor student progress
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment
Educational Background & Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Special Needs Education / Inclusive Education / Psychology or related field
- Prior teaching experience in special education preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Passion for inclusive education and student development
3. Pool Attendant cum Safeguard
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure the safety of students in and around the swimming pool
• Monitor pool activities and maintain discipline during sessions
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards of the pool area
• Assist students during swimming activities when required
Educational Background & Requirements:
• Valid Lifeguard / Swimming Safety License is mandatory
• Certification in lifesaving and first aid will be an added advantage
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred
• Good communication and supervision skills
• Responsible, attentive, and safety-conscious personality
4. Teacher – Compuer Science – Upper School
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach Computer Science for Advanced Level (A/L) students according to the syllabus
• Prepare lesson plans, notes, and revision materials
• Conduct practical sessions and guide students in programming concepts
• Monitor student progress and conduct assessments, tests, and exams
• Support students in achieving strong academic results
Educational Background & Requirements:
• Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• Prior teaching experience in A/L ICT / Computer Science will be an advantage
• Strong knowledge of programming, databases, and core computer science concepts
• Good classroom management and communication skills
• Passion for teaching and guiding students towards academic success
Nugegoda Branch
- Class Teacher – Year 1
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the curriculum
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment
- Monitor student progress and maintain academic records
- Communicate effectively with parents and school management
- Support students’ academic and personal development
Educational Background & Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Education / Primary Education or related field
- Previous teaching experience in primary grades preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
