Role Description The Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Henderson, NC, responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction to students. Daily responsibilities include developing lesson plans, teaching classes, assessing student learning, and adjusting instruction to meet diverse needs. The Teacher maintains a safe, inclusive, and orderly classroom environment, communicates regularly with families and colleagues, and participates in team meetings and school initiatives. The role involves monitoring student progress, providing feedback, and supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development. The Teacher also attends professional development sessions, contributes to school events, and collaborates with staff to support the overall mission of Vance Charter School.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in Teaching and Education, with the ability to support diverse learning needs and age groups.
  • Strong Lesson Planning skills, including designing standards-based, engaging, and differentiated instructional activities.
  • Effective Communication skills for interacting with students, families, colleagues, and administrators in a clear and respectful manner.
  • Experience in Training or mentoring students and/or peers, including providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required; valid state teaching license or eligibility for licensure preferred.
  • Ability to use classroom technology and learning management tools to enhance instruction and communication.
  • Strong classroom management, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining an inclusive, student-centered environment.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives and activities.
