Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Subject Lead for Mathematics to join our Secondary School (IB MYP). This is a key leadership role combining high-quality teaching with curriculum and team leadership.
The successful candidate will lead the development and delivery of the MYP Mathematics programme, ensuring a coherent, rigorous, and concept-driven curriculum, while also teaching across MYP year levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning
- Deliver engaging, inquiry-based Mathematics lessons within the IB MYP framework
- Foster conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Curriculum Leadership (Mathematics)
- Lead the design and ongoing development of MYP Mathematics unit planners
- Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment across year levels
- Oversee progression of concepts and levels of challenge
Assessment & Data
- Ensure consistent application of MYP assessment criteria (A–D)
- Lead moderation and standardisation within the Mathematics team
- Analyse student performance data to inform teaching and curriculum decisions
Team Leadership & IB Contribution
- Lead subject team meetings and support collaborative planning
- Mentor and support teachers in MYP practices
- Contribute to IB programme development, evaluation, and interdisciplinary learning
Requirements:
- Native or near-native level of English proficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching within IB MYP (essential)
- Previous leadership or subject coordination experience
- Strong understanding of MYP curriculum, assessment, and pedagogy
- Experience with ManageBac or similar systems is an advantage
