Department of Electrical and Software Engineering at the University of Calgary is hiring a Sessional Instructor for ENCM 335 – Programming Fundamentals for Electrical Engineers for the Fall 2026 term (September 1 – December 31, 2026).
Course Details
Course Description
:
Key features of the C programming language. Pointers, memory models and memory management. Modular design of software; information hiding. Manipulation of text files and binary files. Introduction to recursion.
Schedule
:
Lecture: MWF 11:00 am – 11:50 am;
Labs:
Tuesday 2:00 pm – 3:15 pm;
Tutorial:
Wednesday 12:00 pm – 12:50 pm.
Qualifications
- Minimum master’s degree in electrical, computer, or software engineering.
- Demonstrated background in the subject matter related to the course.
- Very good previous teaching performance or potential for very good to excellent teaching ability.
- Professional Engineer registration in a Canadian province strongly desired.
- Priority to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
