ICan School is seeking a dedicated and motivated Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join our international school in Limassol, Cyprus, beginning September 2026. This role is ideal for a teacher with strong subject expertise, excellent classroom management, and a commitment to adaptive teaching for multilingual learners.
About the Role
As a Mathematics teacher, you will design and deliver engaging lessons that deepen students’ conceptual understanding while building their confidence in problem solving, logical reasoning, and real-world application. You will teach a diverse group of learners, including students with varying English proficiency levels, and ensure every student feels supported, challenged, and motivated.

- Uses a range of approaches—guided practice, collaborative tasks, problem-solving sessions, manipulatives, digital tools, and real-life applications.
- Encourages student engagement through hands-on activities, inquiry-based tasks, and rich mathematical discussions.
- Works closely with colleagues, teaching assistants, and leadership to support student progress.
- Builds strong relationships with parents through transparent, timely communication.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with Cambridge curriculum standards and school philosophy.
- Teach Mathematics up to Cambridge IGCSE and A Level.
- Use diverse teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and English levels.
- Develop students' analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and mathematical confidence.
Assessment & Progress Tracking
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor understanding and guide instruction.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to students.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and report regularly to parents and leadership.
- Create an organised, inclusive, stimulating classroom space.
- Establish and enforce consistent behaviour expectations.
- Address inappropriate behaviour firmly and fairly, in line with school policy.
Professional Duties
- Prepare classroom materials, organise displays, and maintain resources.
- Complete administrative tasks such as registers, marking, and reports.
- Attend staff meetings, parent meetings, and professional development sessions.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and outings when required.
Requirements
- Degree and recognised teaching qualification in Mathematics.
- Experience to teach Mathematics up to IGCSE and A Level.
- International teaching experience is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and ability to teach multilingual learners.
- Eligibility or willingness to obtain a Cyprus work permit./Kysats qualification accreditation
- Basic spoken Russian is an advantage but not required.
