Position: Principal/Vice-Principal Pool (2026-2027)
Principal and/or Vice-Principal Leadership Pool (2026‑2027)
The Nipissing‑Parry Sound Catholic District School Board invites applications for placement in a temporary Principal and/or Vice‑Principal Leadership Pool for the 2026‑2027 school year.
Successful candidates will be placed in a pool for that academic year and may be eligible for placement as positions become available.
Requirements
- Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification
- Principal’s Qualification Program Part 1 and/or Part II or proof of enrolment
- Religious Education Part II (completed by September 2026) or a letter of equivalency from the OECTA/OCSTA Coordinator of Religious Studies
- Special Education, Part I strongly recommended
- Demonstrated leadership experience in instruction and assessment
- Active participation in a Catholic parish faith community
- Specialist qualifications in two fields of study or credits toward a Master’s degree (asset)

- Clear vision of the mission of a Catholic school, commitment to Catholic education throughout career
- Ability to promote student achievement and well‑being in a respectful, equitable, caring environment; positive, fair progressive discipline based on Gospel values
- Knowledge and application of the Ontario Catholic School Leadership Framework competencies and personal resources
- Commitment to closing the achievement gap through research‑based instruction, data use, particularly in literacy and mathematics
- Support for innovation and creativity engaging 21st‑century learners
- Experience engaging the school community in professional learning communities and rigorous evaluation of school effectiveness in collaboration with board leadership
- Experience nurturing direction in instruction, curriculum and assessment across priority areas:
Indigenous Education, FSL/CEFR, Special Education, Equity and Inclusion, and others - Flexible, welcoming approach; strong community visibility; problem‑solving ability; excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, parents, board stakeholders and the broader community
- Demonstrated system and/or school teacher designation experience with strong commitment to the school and board community
- Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience in two or more divisions, preferably in Ontario

- Detailed summary of professional and academic qualifications and experience
- One current written professional reference and two (most recent) professional references with current contact information (including at least two previous supervisors, one principal)
- Current pastoral reference
- Recent Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (external candidates only)
- Current Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification
- PQP Part 1 and/or PQP Part 2 Certificate or proof of enrolment
- One‑page reflection on effective Catholic School Leadership
- Form completed by current principal, submitted directly to the Director’s Office in alignment with the Final date to receive applications
