Mayfair School is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join our growing international school community in Estepona, Spain, from the beginning of the 2026–2027 academic year. This is a full-time, on-site position for a teacher who is committed to high standards, nurturing relationships, and creating engaging learning experiences for young learners.
At Mayfair, we believe children thrive when they feel known, supported, and challenged. We are looking for a teacher who can create a warm, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment while maintaining high expectations for both learning and behaviour.
Role Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives. The role includes supporting learners’ academic, social, emotional, and personal development while fostering curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the Primary curriculum.
- Creating a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all learners, including EAL and SEND students.
- Assessing, monitoring, and recording student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback.
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, presentation, and student engagement.
- Delivering aspects of the school’s PSHE and pastoral programme as part of the class teacher role.
- Building strong relationships with parents and caregivers through regular communication and meetings.
- Collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development, school initiatives, and enrichment opportunities.
- Participating in staff meetings, CPD, school events, and extracurricular activities.
- Running one after-school enrichment club per week.
- Contributing positively to the wider life and culture of the school community.
- Undertaking any additional responsibilities reasonably requested by the Senior Leadership Team in line with the general scope of the role.
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for candidates who have:
- A recognised teaching qualification suitable for Primary education (e.g. PGCE, BEd, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching within a Primary setting.
- Strong understanding of primary pedagogy and child development.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to differentiate effectively and support learners with varied needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Willingness to contribute to the wider school community and engage in ongoing professional development.
Experience within an international school setting or with multilingual learners would be advantageous.
