The Overseas School of Colombo (OSC) is seeking a caring, collaborative, and enthusiastic Primary Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant Primary School learning community.

Working alongside classroom teachers, the Primary Assistant Teacher plays an integral role in supporting student learning, wellbeing, and achievement. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the implementation of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), working collaboratively to create an engaging, inclusive, and student-centred learning environment where every child can flourish.

We are looking for someone who:

·      Demonstrates a genuine passion for working with young children

·      Builds positive, respectful relationships with students, colleagues, and families

·      Values collaboration, inclusion, and student wellbeing

·      Is organised, proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn

·      Communicates effectively and contributes positively to a collaborative school culture

Required Qualifications

·      Diploma in Primary Education or an equivalent qualification

·      Excellent written and spoken English

·      Experience working with primary-aged children in an educational setting

·      Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills

·      Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment

·      Commitment to supporting inclusive teaching and learning practices

Preferred Qualifications

·      Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field

·      Experience working in an international school

·      Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP)

·      Experience supporting inquiry-based learning

·      A commitment to ongoing professional learning and growth

As this is a locally recruited position, applicants must currently hold the legal right to live and work in Sri Lanka.
