A reputed residential school in Dehradun is looking to appoint a PGT English to teach senior grades and contribute to the school's academic and co-curricular programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English to senior secondary students, primarily Grades 10 to 12, as per the prescribed curriculum.
- Plan lessons, assessments, worksheets, and study material aligned with board examination requirements.
- Prepare students for board examinations and support strong academic outcomes.
- Monitor student performance and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
- Participate in curriculum planning, review, and development for the English department.
- Mentor students in language, literature, grammar, writing, and communication skills.
- Support co-curricular activities such as debates, literary events, elocution, creative writing, and school publications.
- Collaborate with faculty members and academic coordinators on academic programmes and school initiatives.
- Maintain accurate academic records, reports, and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to school policies, SOPs, and academic quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's and Master’s degree in English with at least 50% aggregate marks.
- B.Ed. degree from a reputed, government-recognised university.
Experience
- 10 to 15 years of post-qualification teaching experience.
- At least 5 years of experience teaching Grades 10 to 12.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong command over English language, literature, and grammar.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to mentor students across academic and co-curricular areas.
- Good judgment, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills.
