Title: Math Olympiad Coach – Part-Time, gt.school (Remote) – $37,500/year USD
Company: Crossover
Location: India
You have mastered difficult problems. Now apply that expertise where it matters most: preparing talented students to compete, qualify, and succeed.
GT School serves families seeking more than academic proficiency. We develop gifted learners through meaningful challenges: national and international competitions, publicly verifiable results, and accomplishments students can leverage long-term. This position exists to ensure our math program consistently produces students who emerge from sessions more capable, more confident, and fully prepared for competitive environments.
This is not a standard tutoring position. You will lead live virtual workshops designed to challenge high-performing students, provide focused preparation for competitions including AMC 8/10/12, AIME, USAMO, IMO, RMO, INMO, UKMT (JMC, IMC, SMC), BMO, AMC (Australian Mathematics Competition), AMT, AMOC, SAMO, PAMO, PMO, Math Kangaroo, and other national and regional olympiads, and develop reusable instructional materials that elevate standards across GT Anywhere and GT campuses. If you excel at converting raw ability into demonstrable results and can communicate advanced concepts with precision, this role will suit you.
If you possess a documented history of mathematical achievement — as a competitor, coach, or olympiad medalist — and wish to develop the next generation of champions, we invite your application.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and conduct 2–4 live virtual domain workshops weekly focused on competition-level mathematical thinking
- Provide 1:1 or small-group coaching for targeted contests through mock examinations, timed exercises, and comprehensive feedback
- Quickly identify skill gaps and build customized development plans aligned with each student's objectives and competition schedule
- Monitor student advancement using a structured math development framework and modify teaching approach based on performance data
- Produce original, challenging problem sets and modular instructional content that can be reused by other educators across the program
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Provide generalized homework assistance or grade-focused tutoring without defined, measurable outcomes
- Conduct conventional classroom instruction limited to standard curriculum boundaries
- Facilitate unstructured problem-solving sessions lacking planning, feedback mechanisms, and competition readiness pathways
- Rely on duplicated or insufficiently rigorous materials that fail to meet competitive mathematics standards
Math Olympiad Coach Key Responsibilities
This position ensures gifted students consistently produce measurable, competition-level mathematical achievements that GT School can showcase and families can depend upon.
Basic Requirements
- Documented elite mathematical accomplishment (e.g., Olympiad medal, AIME qualification, top national ranking, or equivalent verifiable achievement)
- Minimum 6 months of teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience with demonstrable results

- Comprehensive knowledge of math competition structures, content areas, and preparation methodology (e.g., AMC, AIME, Olympiads)
- Effective virtual instruction skills and ability to maintain student engagement through video platforms
- Availability for 5–10 hours weekly
- Stable internet connection and professional-quality video equipment
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Current, ongoing participation as a competitor, coach, or creator of competition-oriented instructional content
- Background in developing reusable instructional libraries, problem collections, or curricula for use by other educators
- Documented student achievements including qualifications, rankings, medals, or other formally recognized competition results
