Key responsibilities:

📖 Curriculum & Instruction

  • Planning & Teaching: Design and deliver highly engaging, rigorous ELA lessons that align with international standards and meet the diverse needs of our student body.
  • Cambridge Curriculum Integration: Effectively integrate the Cambridge IGCSE English – First Language syllabus into daily instruction, ensuring comprehensive coverage of reading, writing, speaking, and listening components.
  • Skills-Based Mastery: Train students in specific exam skills, including directed writing, composition (argumentative, descriptive, narrative), and comprehension, without losing the joy of meaningful learning.
  • Assessment & Moderation: Use formative and summative data to provide precise feedback. Take responsibility for internal standardization and the moderation of external assignments and coursework according to Cambridge standards. 📊

  • Voice & Agency: Create a positive, safe, and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to take intellectual risks and find their unique voices.

Requirements:

Who you are:

  • Qualified: You hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, or Education. A Master’s degree or a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) is highly preferred. 🎓
  • Experienced: You have 2+ years of experience teaching ELA, with a proven track record within the Cambridge IGCSE English framework (or equivalent rigorous systems).
  • Exam & Moderation Savvy: You possess a deep understanding of Cambridge assessment criteria, examiner reports, and the moderation process for external components.
  • Adaptable: You thrive in a multicultural environment and have a deep appreciation for different cultures. 🌎
  • Communicator: You possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills and can build strong bridges with the school community.
