This position is not theoretical or advisory. It is an operational leadership mandate. You will direct academic strategy in execution, establish rigorous standards, surface gaps in delivery, and develop high-performing teams to produce measurable student impact. You will transform our scientific underpinnings into disciplined operations and articulate this model's value to global audiences.
What You Will Be Doing
- Designing academic frameworks that convert learning science principles into actionable direction for curriculum development, student motivation architecture, and application design.
- Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school-level teams maintain alignment, accountability, and performance delivery.
- Integrating data analysis, stakeholder interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem assessments that identify the most critical obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend targeted solutions.
- Ensuring strategic coherence through structured planning, continuous feedback mechanisms, and milestone oversight to sustain focus on learning objectives.
- Serving as 2 Hour Learning's principal representative in high-stakes forums, from keynote addresses to consultations with Ministries of Education, advancing systemic transformation in global education paradigms.

Head Of Academic Innovation Key Responsibilities
Expand and strengthen 2 Hour Learning's validated academic framework by harmonizing implementation across school networks, raising leadership excellence benchmarks, and establishing yourself as the authoritative spokesperson for a movement founded on rigorous science and demonstrated impact.
Basic Requirements
- Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
- At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
- Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
- Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
- Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
- Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
