Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Guest Lecturer role based in Mumbai. The Guest Lecturer will design and deliver engaging lectures, studio sessions, and workshops across relevant design disciplines, ensuring alignment with ADI’s academic standards and curriculum. Responsibilities include developing course materials, assignments, and assessments that combine creative practice with emerging technologies and industry trends. The role involves mentoring and advising students on projects and portfolios, fostering critical thinking, experimentation, and professional readiness. The Guest Lecturer will collaborate with academic leadership and industry partners to bring real-world case studies, practitioner talks, and collaborative projects into the classroom. Additional duties include participating in academic planning, contributing to curriculum enhancement, and supporting events such as juries, exhibitions, and reviews.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in one or more fashion domains such as fashion design, pattern making, draping, garment construction, textile innovation, fashion communication, styling, sustainability, digital fashion, fashion business, branding, or entrepreneurship.
  • Relevant industry, studio, brand, retail, manufacturing, craft, sustainability, or fashion-tech experience.
  • Ability to teach through a studio-based approach, connecting research, concept development, prototyping, portfolio, and final presentation.
  • Experience in teaching, mentoring, workshops, juries, live projects, or portfolio guidance is preferred.
  • Ability to integrate industry practices, technology, sustainability, and innovation into classroom learning.
  • Strong communication, presentation, critique, and storytelling skills.
  • Master’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Active professional practice, research, entrepreneurship, or industry recognition will be an added advantage.
