Position: Grades K-6 Bilingual Teaching Role
Pursue an exciting teaching position at Isabella Dicken Elementary School in Fernie, BC. This part-time contract role focuses on French Immersion and English instruction for Grades K-6.
Under the School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay), this teaching on call position is set for 0.832 FTE, starting September 8, 2026, and running until June 25, 2027. Applicants must hold BC Teacher Certification and be fully bilingual, ready to step into French Immersion classrooms as needed or other TTOC roles on days without French coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach French Immersion and English subjects
• Provide coverage for absent teachers
• Design and execute lesson plans
• Engage with students in a meaningful way
• Support school initiatives and events
Requirements:
• BC Teacher Certification required
• Proficiency in both French and English
• Degree and teaching experience in relevant subjects
• K-6 teaching experience preferred
• Availability for Monday through Thursday
