Role Description The Grade (6–8) Online Maths Tutor will conduct live, interactive virtual classes for middle school learners, focusing on core mathematical concepts and curriculum-aligned topics. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning lesson content, delivering engaging sessions, explaining concepts such as algebra and foundational mathematics, and providing individualized support through doubt-clearing and practice exercises. The tutor will assess student progress, assign and review homework or practice tasks, and share regular feedback with learners and, where applicable, guardians. The tutor will also maintain accurate records of attendance and performance and follow Codeyoung’s teaching guidelines and schedules. This is a part-time, remote role.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong subject knowledge in Mathematics, including comfort with topics commonly taught in grades 6–8.
- Candidates should possess experience in Tutoring and Online Tutoring, with the ability to manage interactive virtual classrooms.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to explain concepts clearly and support diverse learning styles.
- Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Algebra and the ability to relate abstract concepts to real-world examples.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field are preferred.
- Prior experience teaching or mentoring middle school learners, especially in an online setting, is beneficial.
- Comfort with digital tools, learning platforms, and basic troubleshooting in an online classroom environment is advantageous.
- Reliability, patience, and the ability to create an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere for learners from diverse backgrounds are important.
