Role Description As an English KS2 Tutor at Filo, you will provide live, 1:1 online tutoring sessions to primary school learners, focusing on Key Stage 2 English curriculum objectives. You will explain concepts clearly, support reading and writing skills, reinforce grammar and vocabulary, and help learners prepare for assessments in a supportive and engaging manner. You will use Filo’s platform and tools to conduct interactive video sessions, respond to student queries, and tailor explanations to individual learning needs. This is a remote contract role, offering flexible hours and the opportunity to work with learners from diverse backgrounds. You will collaborate with the broader tutor community by sharing best practices, maintaining professionalism, and upholding Filo’s standards for quality and safety in online education.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in English Teaching, Tutoring, and Online Tutoring, with experience working with KS2 learners or similar age groups.
- Candidates should possess solid knowledge of English Grammar and the primary school English curriculum, including reading comprehension, writing, spelling, and vocabulary.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear spoken English, active listening, and the ability to explain concepts in simple, age-appropriate language.
- Candidates should possess confidence using digital tools and online platforms for video-based teaching, along with reliable internet connectivity and suitable hardware.
- Relevant teaching qualifications, tutoring experience, or education-related degrees are beneficial; familiarity with UK KS2 standards or equivalent curricula is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, maintain punctuality, adapt to different learning styles, and demonstrate patience and empathy toward students is expected.
