Title: Early Childhood Teacher, gt.school – $100,000/year USD
Company: Crossover
Location: Round Rock, TX
- On-site in Georgetown, Texas, just 30 minutes from Austin, with relocation assistance available
- $100,000 annually, paid weekly, with health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one
- Full-time, 40 hours per week at one of the world's most forward-thinking schools
You hold the belief that a gifted six-year-old is capable of learning algebra, and that traditional schools often discourage her from even attempting it. If that statement unsettles you, this position is not the right fit. If it reflects why you entered the field of education, continue reading.
At gt.school, children do not sit passively receiving instruction. They progress through adaptive learning software that enables them to learn five to ten times faster than traditional classroom models permit. This allows you to focus on the work that genuinely transforms a child: coaching them in life skills, inspiring them to pursue ambitious goals, and maintaining standards rigorous enough that they stretch to meet them. You are not delivering academic content. You are the catalyst that makes a seven-year-old determined to surpass her own achievements.
Your workday is structured around small cohorts rather than classes of thirty. You may facilitate a one-hour workshop on focus or public speaking in the morning, then work one-on-one in the afternoon with a student facing a challenge. You will leverage real analytics to identify the incentive that re-engages a hesitant child. On some days a child will resist, and your responsibility is to bring them back on board without compromising expectations. Maintaining those expectations is how you demonstrate to a child that you believe in their capacity to succeed.
Advance a cohort effectively and opportunities expand. Lead Guides mentor the broader team on motivation techniques and standards. Campus Leads oversee entire schools. This role marks the beginning of that trajectory.
Bring your commitment and your high standards. Apply today.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitate one-hour life skill workshops for small cohorts of gifted five- to eight-year-olds, teaching focus, self-regulation, public speaking, and effective feedback practices
- Conduct one-on-one and small-group motivational sessions designed to drive every student toward ambitious goals within their adaptive learning applications
- Study the life skills curriculum and lesson plans, then present them with energy and narrative rather than rigid adherence to a script
- Coordinate and administer Test2Pass mastery assessments, promoting only those students who have truly mastered the material
- Analyze student profiles, interests, and Coachbot analytics to select the appropriate incentive—such as school currency or leaderboards—that drives each individual child
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Delivering lectures at the front of a classroom. Academic learning takes place within the software, and your role is to coach children through the process
- Developing or following a rigid curriculum. The apps adjust to each child individually, so teaching to the average is never required
- Overseeing a classroom of thirty students. Your work involves small cohorts where every child is individually recognized
- Passively supervising children on computers. Inactive screen monitoring is the antithesis of this position
- Advancing students who have not achieved mastery simply to maintain favorable weekly metrics
