Introduction & Job Overview For Teachers Assistant
A unique opportunity is available for a passionate and dedicated Private Game Lodge Teacher Assistant based in Sabi Sands, Mpumalanga. t.
Working closely with teaching staff and lodge management, the Teacher Assistant will contribute to both classroom-based learning and outdoor educational experiences. Responsibilities include assisting with lesson planning, supporting structured learning activities, and facilitating play-based development for younger children. The role also involves helping with administrative duties, maintaining classroom organisation, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
The position requires someone who is enthusiastic about working with children and committed to their growth and development. Candidates must be adaptable, as the role involves working with children aged 2 to 5+ and potentially supporting learners up to Grade 10 over time.
Additional involvement in extracurricular activities such as sports, outings, and game drives adds to the uniqueness of this role.
Job Requirements & Description for the role of Teachers Assistant
- Assist with classroom setup, administration, and safety requirements
- Support structured lessons for children aged 5+
- Design and assist with developmental activities for ages 2–4
- Help with lesson planning and daily classroom preparation
- Facilitate play-based learning and structured educational activities
- Maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating learning environment
- Support observation and monitoring of children’s development
- Collaborate with teachers, management, and lodge staff
- Assist with extracurricular activities including sports and outings
- Maintain professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
- Ensure classroom organisation both indoors and outdoors
- Participate in training, mentoring, and development initiatives
- Adapt to the evolving educational needs of learners up to Grade 10
Skills & Experience For The Role Of Teachers Assistant
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in pre-primary or primary education
- Relevant or ongoing studies (BEd, PGCE, Honours, or ECD qualification advantageous)
- Passion for working with young children
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Previous experience working with children beneficial
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Self-motivated, responsible, and driven
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Positive, flexible, and adaptable personality
- Good computer literacy
- Valid Code 8/10 driver’s licence (PDP advantageous)
Salary: Negotiable with Accommodation
