Role Description

The Deputy Dean of the School of Management will support and advance the academic mission of AUK’s Kyiv Campus, which offers both Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Management. Working closely with the Acting Dean, the Deputy Dean will drive program quality, faculty development, strategic growth, and stakeholder engagement — combining academic leadership with a practical commitment to student success and institutional excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic Leadership and Program Development

  • Lead continuous improvement of Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, assisting the Acting Dean in overseeing curriculum development and faculty management.
  • Lead curriculum reviews to ensure academic rigor, international alignment, and incorporation of emerging trends such as sustainability and digital transformation.
  • Promote faculty and student research engagement; foster partnerships with industry and academic institutions for applied research opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and national regulatory requirements.

2. Teaching and Faculty Engagement

  • Teach 4 courses per academic year in management or related fields.
  • Recruit, mentor, and support faculty; assist the Acting Dean in delivering professional development workshops to enhance teaching quality and scholarly engagement.
  • Oversee academic advising and mentorship for students and junior faculty.

3. Student Affairs

  • Address student concerns and foster initiatives that enhance the student experience, including academic advising and retention programs.

4. Strategic Management and Operations

  • Collaborate with the Acting Dean on the School’s strategic plan, monitoring progress and identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Support financial health by identifying revenue streams and managing resources; cultivate relationships with corporate, government, and nonprofit partners to strengthen the School’s visibility and impact.

5. External Recognition and Industry Collaboration

  • Represent the School at national and international events; strengthen AUK’s profile by highlighting academic achievements, alumni success, and industry contributions.
  • Serve as a liaison between AUK and the Kyiv business community; lead or support the organization of conferences, workshops, and seminars aligned with the School’s goals.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in management or a related field.
  • International teaching experience
  • At least 5 years of academic leadership in a business school or equivalent institution.
  • Proven success in curriculum development, program management, and faculty leadership, preferably in an institution offering both undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Strong teaching record, strategic thinking ability, and capacity to align initiatives with AUK’s mission.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English required, Ukrainian proficiency beneficial.
