Role Description This role is responsible for delivering barista training programs, including espresso preparation, milk texturing, beverage crafting, and coffee equipment handling. The Barista Trainer conducts practical workshops, demonstrations, and coaching sessions, ensuring trainees follow safety, hygiene, and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include evaluating trainee performance, providing constructive feedback, updating training materials, and collaborating with academic and operations teams to align training with ILT’s learning objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong Training & Development and Training skills to plan, deliver, and assess barista training programs.
- Excellent Communication skills to explain techniques clearly and provide effective feedback.
- Customer Service skills to model professional service standards in café and hospitality settings.
- Coaching skills to mentor learners, build confidence, and support continuous improvement.
- Hands-on barista experience, including espresso extraction, milk steaming, latte art, and equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and café operations; certification in hospitality or barista training is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Colombo, manage groups of learners, and adapt training to different skill levels.
