About The Role And School
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated ARP Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Brent from September. This ARP Teacher role involves teaching pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including pupils with complex needs and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
The successful ARP Teacher will deliver engaging, personalised lessons that enable pupils to access learning, develop communication skills, build independence and achieve their individual outcomes. As an ARP Teacher, you will create a nurturing and structured learning environment where pupils feel safe, valued and supported to reach their full potential.
This ARP Teacher opportunity would suit a practitioner with a strong understanding of SEND, inclusive teaching strategies and personalised learning approaches. The school is looking for an ARP Teacher who can work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and families to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
As an ARP Teacher, you will oversee the effective running of the classroom, manage support staff and contribute to the development of high-quality SEND provision across the school. The successful ARP Teacher will join a dedicated and supportive team where pupil wellbeing, communication and progress are central to everything they do.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, differentiated and personalised lessons for pupils with SEND
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including those with complex needs and EHCPs
- Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress and achievement
- Create a positive, communication-rich learning environment
- Lead and manage classroom support staff effectively
- Work collaboratively with therapists, external agencies and the school's SEND team
- Develop and implement strategies to support pupils' communication, independence and social development
- Contribute to Annual Reviews, Individual Support Plans and EHCP targets
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers to support pupil outcomes
- Promote high standards of behaviour, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Qualifications/Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with pupils with SEND desirable
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching and the SEND Code of Practice
- Experience writing reports and contributing to EHCP reviews desirable
- Excellent communication, organisation and behaviour management skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
- Right to work in the UK
