Wellness Coach
Rate of Pay: $17.60 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

Qualifications & Experience
- Two or more years of post‑secondary education in Physical and/or Health Education or related field and one or more years of related work experience (or a combination of both)
- YMCA Fitness Leadership Certification
- YMCA Leadership in Group, Individual Conditioning (IC 1 and
2), Aquatic Trainer, Personal Trainer or other recognized certifications - Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Current satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (condition of employment)
- Full vaccination against COVID‑19 is a requirement that was suspended effective 30 June 2022; may be reinstated if public health circumstances require it.
Responsibilities
- Follow YMCA policy and procedures
- Act as a YMCA ambassador, demonstrating core values in daily work
- Provide coaching, direction, and demonstrate techniques in the use of equipment and expected outcomes
- Conduct wellness coaching sessions and review individual conditioning orientations
- Monitor and supervise access and use of equipment within the weight room area
- Perform routine maintenance and tidying of the Health and Wellness Centre Conditioning Room
- Manage weight‑cleaning, equipment movement, and provide instruction to staff and members
All employees and volunteers are required to provide a current satisfactory Criminal Record and may require a Vulnerable Sector Search as a condition of their employment. Police record checks are reviewed on an individual basis and offences, if any, are considered in relation to the position requirements.
