Job Description
Position: Wellness Coach
Rate of Pay: $17.60/hour
Start Date: Ongoing

Qualifications &
Experience:
- 2 or more years of training/post secondary education in Physical and/or Health Education or related field along with 1+ years related work experience or a combination of both education and experience is preferred
- YMCA Fitness Leadership Certification an asset
- YMCA Leadership in Group, Individual Conditioning (IC 1 and
2), Aquatic Trainers, Personal Trainer (or other recognized certifications) an asset - Current First Aid and CPR
- Current and acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is a condition of employment for all staff and volunteers
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless exempted; requirement suspended effective June 30, 2022; may be reinstated in future.
Responsibilities:
- Follow YMCA of Southwestern Ontario policy and procedures
- Act as a YMCA ambassador, demonstrating YMCA core values in daily work
- Provide coaching, direction and demonstrate techniques in the use of equipment and expected benefits
- Conduct Wellness Coaching sessions and individual program review orientation for individual conditioning
- Monitors/supervises access and use of equipment within the weight room area
- Routine maintenance and tidying of Health and Wellness Centre Conditioning Room facility
- Manage varying amounts of weight cleaning, moving equipment, providing instruction
