Podar International School (CBSE Affiliated), Akola – Maharashtra is looking for Vice Principal, who has prior worked in similar capacity, handling large school-set up/large academic team

  • Location: Akola – Maharashtra (Nagpur Division)

To assist the Principal in the overall academic, administrative, operational, and disciplinary management of the school, ensuring excellence in teaching-learning processes, student outcomes, staff performance, and compliance with Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE norms and school policies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic Leadership

  • Support the Principal in planning, implementing, and monitoring the academic programme.
  • Ensure effective curriculum delivery in accordance with CBSE guidelines.
  • Monitor lesson planning, classroom transactions, assessments, and student performance.
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
  • Drive academic excellence through result analysis, remediation, and enrichment programmes.
  • Promote innovative pedagogies, experiential learning, and ICT integration.

2. Staff Management & Development

  • Supervise and mentor Coordinators, Heads of Departments (HODs), and teaching staff.
  • Assist in teacher recruitment, induction, and retention initiatives.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide developmental feedback.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate professional development programmes.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture.

3. Student Discipline & Wellbeing

  • Oversee implementation of school discipline policies and code of conduct.
  • Address student behavioural issues and parent concerns effectively.
  • Ensure student safety, wellbeing, and child protection practices.
  • Promote values-based education and positive school culture.
  • Supervise counselling, inclusion, and student support services.

4. School Operations & Administration

  • Assist in managing daily school operations and ensuring smooth functioning.
  • Coordinate timetables, examinations, events, and academic calendars.
  • Monitor attendance of students and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and CBSE requirements.
  • Coordinate with transport, security, facilities, and support departments.

5. Examination & Assessment Management

  • Oversee internal assessments, periodic tests, and annual examinations.
  • Ensure fair and transparent assessment practices.
  • Monitor result preparation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Implement assessment reforms as per CBSE directives.

6. Parent & Community Engagement

  • Build positive relationships with parents and stakeholders.
  • Lead parent meetings, orientations, and grievance resolution processes.
  • Represent the school at educational forums, events, and community engagements.
  • Promote the school's vision, mission, and values.

7. Strategic & Institutional Development

  • Assist the Principal in achieving institutional goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to accreditation, inspections, audits, and quality assurance processes.
  • Support admissions, enrolment growth, and retention strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across school functions.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • B.Ed. or M.Ed. mandatory.
  • Additional qualifications in Educational Leadership, School Administration, or Management preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 10–15 years of teaching experience at TGT and PGT levels
  • At least 5 years in academic leadership roles such as Senior School Coordinator, Academic Head, or Vice Principal handling large teaching team is mandatory
  • Experience in a large CBSE school (2,500-3000+ students) is mandatory
  • Proven track record in academic administration, staff management, and school operations.
