Role Description The Trainer & Assessor will deliver competency-based training and assessment to learners in an on-site setting at NV College in Coffs Harbour, NSW.
Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging training sessions, assessing student work against competency standards, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of student progress.
The role also involves developing and updating learning materials, supporting learners with different educational and cultural backgrounds, and ensuring compliance with relevant education and quality assurance requirements.
This is a full/part-time or casual on-site role that requires collaboration with colleagues, participation in staff meetings, and contribution to continuous improvement of training programs.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in training and assessment within a competency-based framework, preferably in vocational education and training.
- Strong skills in lesson planning, classroom facilitation, and learner engagement, with the ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learner needs.
- Proficiency in assessing learner performance, providing clear feedback, and maintaining accurate training and assessment documentation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
- Relevant training and assessment qualifications (such as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent) and current industry experience in the discipline being taught.
- Ability to use digital tools and learning management systems to support training delivery and record-keeping.
