Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Trainer & Assessor role based in Melbourne, VIC. The Trainer & Assessor will prepare and deliver vocational training sessions to international students, using a variety of interactive and learner-centered teaching methods. The role includes developing lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments that meet relevant training package and regulatory requirements. The Trainer & Assessor will conduct fair and evidence-based assessments, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate training and assessment records. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve supporting student learning needs, participating in validation and moderation activities, and collaborating with academic and administrative teams to ensure quality outcomes.
Qualifications

  • Current vocational competency in the relevant discipline area(s) and recent industry experience.
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent as per regulatory requirements).
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging training sessions for diverse, international learner cohorts.
  • Strong assessment skills, including creating assessment tools, marking evidence, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail in documentation and compliance.
  • Experience working in the VET sector and knowledge of ASQA standards and regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems, online learning tools, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, learner-centered practice and continuous professional development.
  • Valid working rights in Australia and a current Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain).
