We are seeking an experienced and passionate Hospitality Trainer to develop, inspire, and upskill our service teams to deliver consistently outstanding guest experiences.

 

About the Role

As our Hospitality Trainer, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs across food & beverage, front office, housekeeping & operation team. Your role will focus on building strong service culture, enhancing technical skills, and ensuring all team members meet and exceed Rivertrees’ service standards.

You will work closely with department heads to identify training needs, onboard new employees, and provide continuous coaching to improve performance, confidence, and professionalism. By fostering a learning-focused environment, you will help create motivated teams who take pride in delivering warm, authentic, and world-class hospitality.

Responsibilities & Duties

·     Develop and deliver training programs for new hires, existing staff, and management.

·     Continuously assess the training needs of hotel staff and design programs that meet those needs.

·     Facilitate effective orientation sessions for new hires.

·     Provide on-the-job training and support to employees.

·     Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary improvements.

·     Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all training programs and participants.

·     Stay informed about current industry trends and best practices.

·     Collaborate with other departments, such as HR, operations and sales.

 

Knowledge and Skills Required

·     Outstanding written and spoken English and Swahili.

·     Strong understanding of training and development concepts, methodologies, and best practices.

·     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·     Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

·     Good understanding of the hospitality industry and current trends.

·     Proficiency in technology and digital tools.

·     Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire staff.

 

Qualifications and Experience Required

·     A bachelor's degree in hospitality management, human resources, education, or a related field.

·     A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with a focus on training and development.

·     Experience in training or teaching.

 

Working Conditions

  • May work in an office or training room, as well as on-site locations such as guest rooms, restaurant, kitchens, stores, outdoors, and public areas.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Job may require standing for long periods of time and the ability to move around the hotel.
  • May be required to travel to other hotel locations or attend conferences and workshops.
  • Fast-paced and can be stressful at times due to the demands of the role.
