Overview

The Department of Geography and Setting invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor beginning January1,2024.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in established undergraduate degree programs in Geography and Environmental Studies.
  • Maintain an ongoing research program in a related field.
  • Teach from a multidisciplinary physical geography perspective, including geomorphology, geology, soils, climatology, and environmental chemistry.
  • Develop courses in hydrology, biogeography, agroecology, and introductory Geography and Environmental Studies courses.
  • Instruction in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is preferred.

Qualifications

  • PhD completed or near completion in a related field.
  • Experience in research and academic teaching in the discipline.
  • Willingness to develop a research program and contribute scholarly activities.
  • Willingness to support the university’s Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.
