The Opportunity

Are you a passionate, adaptable, and proactive Teaching Assistant looking for a secure, full:time role for the entire 2026/27 academic year?

We are a leading education recruitment agency seeking a General Teaching Assistant on behalf of a wonderful primary school located right in the heart of Watford. This full:time position (5 days a week, Monday to Friday) starts this coming September and runs until July 2027, offering excellent stability and the chance to become an integral part of a fantastic school community.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Class Teacher with daily classroom preparation, resource management, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Work with small groups or on a 1:1 basis to boost pupil engagement and progress in core subjects like Reading, Writing, and Maths.

Promote inclusion by supporting children of all abilities, including those with mild SEND or English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Supervise outdoor play and lunchtime activities, ensuring student safety and encouraging positive social interaction.

Be a positive role model, fostering the emotional and social well:being of the children.

What the School / Agency Are Looking For

This role is perfect for a psychology graduate looking for classroom experience, an experienced TA seeking a long:term local role, or an aspiring future teacher

Previous experience working with children (school settings, tutoring, youth clubs, or coaching).

A patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic personality with a can:do attitude.

Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Maths).

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work seamlessly within a team.

A valid Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or the willingness for one through us).
