Dalton School is a thriving, inclusive primary school at the heart of its community. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and committed Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team from 1 September 2026.

The Role

Working under the direction of the class teacher, you will:

  • Support pupils' learning in the classroom, in small groups and on a one-to-one basis.
  • Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
  • Assist with planning and delivering learning activities that enable pupils to make strong progress.
  • Support pupils with SEND and those requiring additional intervention.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence and resilience.
  • Prepare learning resources and contribute to an engaging classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and parents to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Supervise pupils during lunchtimes, educational visits and other school activities as required.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

  • Has experience of working with children or young people (school experience desirable).
  • Holds a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent), or can demonstrate equivalent skills.
  • Has GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Is passionate about supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding and continuous professional development.
  • Is enthusiastic, adaptable and able to use their initiative.
