Sensei Academy is hiring a Teaching Assistant to run the day-to-day operation of our Cambridge IGCSE Maths, Physics and Islamiat programmes. This is a hands-on role: you'll be in the room with the students, invigilating their tests, marking their scripts, and making sure the work actually gets done inside the academy rather than trailing off at home.
We're looking for someone who knows Maths and Physics well enough to answer a student who is stuck mid-question — not just supervise the room.
What you'll do
Conduct the tests — set up and invigilate every chapter test, topic test and mock across all three subjects, time them properly, and make sure every student sits the paper they're meant to sit.
Scan and send — scan every completed script cleanly, page order intact and nothing cut off, and send the files across the same day.
Mark the scripts — transfer the marking onto the physical papers from the marked copies I send you: ticks, crosses, part marks and question totals, so each student gets their paper back properly marked. This applies to Islamiat too — the marking comes to you already done, so no subject knowledge is needed there.
Keep the work in the building — supervise practice sessions and make sure students complete their assigned work at the academy, not "at home later".
Help students who are stuck — when a student doesn't understand a Maths or Physics question, sit with them and work through it. This is the part of the job that needs real subject knowledge.
What we're looking for
A solid grasp of Mathematics and Physics at O-Level / IGCSE standard — enough to explain indices, HCF and LCM, directed numbers, motion and forces to a student who has just got them wrong. A degree in engineering, physics, maths or a related field, or current study toward one, is ideal, but we care more about whether you can teach it than what your certificate says.
No Islamiat knowledge is required. For Islamiat you'll be conducting the tests, scanning the scripts and transferring the marking — the marking itself is supplied to you.
Beyond that: patience with students who are struggling, care about accuracy when marking, and reliability — tests run on a schedule and marked papers need to come back on time.
Prior tutoring or teaching-assistant experience is a plus, not a requirement. Comfort with scanning apps and basic file handling is expected.
Hours and pay
Monday to Saturday, 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on-site at Sensei Academy. PKR 25,000 – 30,000 per month, depending on experience.
