Description
Kingdown School is a co‑educational, non‑denominational secondary school and sixth form located in Warminster, Wiltshire. We are looking to appoint a highly skilled Teacher of Humanities to join its passionate and successful Humanities Department, with effect from September 2026. The role is suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs who are passionate about helping all young people to believe, aspire and achieve.
The ability to teach Sociology/Psychology is desirable.
Requirements & Expectations
- QTS status is essential
- Commitment to becoming a truly excellent teacher
- Ability to teach a broad range of engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire and improve student attainment
- Plan and deliver lessons to the highest standard ensuring real learning takes place and pupils make superior progress
- Raise attainment and challenge pupils to achieve their best
- Commitment to extra‑curricular activities
- Awareness of current initiatives in Humanities (Geography, History and RE)
- Ability to teach Sociology/psychology (desirable)
- Effective team member, contribute positively to the Humanities Department and the school
- Positive, cheerful outlook with a good sense of humour
- Forge good relationships with students and staff
- Work hard and remain calm under pressure
- Desire to work within the Multi‑Academy Trust structure
