Stellar World School is looking for a passionate and dynamic Teacher Librarian who can foster a love for reading, research, and lifelong learning among students. The ideal candidate will manage the school library effectively while collaborating with teachers to support curriculum and literacy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and organize the school library resources, including books, digital content, and learning materials.
- Promote reading habits and library engagement through storytelling sessions, reading programs, and library activities.
- Assist students and staff in locating and utilizing library resources effectively.
- Support curriculum delivery by collaborating with teachers on research projects and literacy development.
- Maintain library records, cataloguing, circulation, and inventory systems.
- Curate age-appropriate resources and ensure the library environment is welcoming and student-friendly.
- Conduct orientation sessions for students on library usage, digital literacy, and research skills.
- Stay updated with current educational and library management practices.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib) or equivalent qualification.
- Prior experience in a school library setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for reading, storytelling, and student engagement.
- Familiarity with library management software and digital resources.
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators and school leadership.
