What if school looked different?
What if children were trusted with real responsibility?
What if they solved problems instead of waiting for directions?
What if they learned to lead discussions, resolve conflict, build businesses, create beautiful work, and take ownership of their education?
What if your role wasn't to manage a classroom…
…but to coach young people as they discovered what they were capable of becoming?
This is not a traditional teaching job.
And we're not looking for a traditional teacher.
We're looking for someone who believes young people are capable of far more than most schools ask of them.
Someone who loves asking questions more than giving answers.
Someone who believes excellence, ownership, and character matter just as much as academics.
Someone excited by the challenge of helping build one of the most extraordinary learner-driven schools in the country.
If you're looking for a place where you can help build the future of education, we'd love to meet you.
About Creators House
Creators House is a learner-driven microschool serving elementary, middle, and high school learners in Bothell, Washington. We believe children learn best when they are trusted with meaningful responsibility, challenged with real work, and surrounded by adults who believe deeply in their potential.
As a microschool, our size is one of our greatest strengths. We know every learner personally, build deep partnerships with families, and intentionally create a community where every learner is known, challenged, and valued.
At Creators House, we call our educators Guides because their role is fundamentally different from that of a traditional teacher.
Our Guides don't stand at the front of the room delivering lectures. They coach. They ask thoughtful questions. They protect culture. They challenge learners to think deeply. They help young people discover they are capable of more than they imagined.
As a growing school, every Guide helps shape our culture, systems, and future. If you're energized by building rather than simply maintaining, you'll find meaningful opportunities to contribute beyond your studio.
What You'll Do
As a Guide, you will:
- Build a studio culture where learners feel challenged, known, and inspired.
- Coach learners toward increasing ownership, responsibility, and independence.
- Facilitate meaningful discussions that develop critical thinking and strong character.
- Guide learners through Quests, projects, and real-world challenges.
- Partner closely with families as trusted coaches in each learner's Hero's Journey.
- Hold high standards while believing deeply in every learner's potential.
- Continuously reflect on and improve your own craft while helping improve the school.
You'll Thrive Here If You…
- Believe children are capable of more than most adults realize.
- Love coaching more than controlling.
- Ask questions naturally instead of immediately providing answers.
- Hold high standards because you care deeply.
- Stay calm when situations become challenging.
- Are deeply curious about people.
- Believe mistakes are opportunities for growth.
- Enjoy building culture, not just teaching content.
- Want to grow as much as the learners you serve.
- Are energized by helping build something extraordinary.
This Role Probably Isn't For You If…
- You prefer being the expert in the room.
- You believe your primary job is delivering content.
- You feel uncomfortable allowing learners to struggle.
- You need detailed scripts or constant direction.
- You measure success primarily by compliance or quiet classrooms.
- You prefer maintaining systems over improving them.
- You're looking for a role that asks little of your own growth.
We don't expect perfection. We do expect humility, curiosity, courage, and a commitment to continually becoming a better Guide.
