Job Summary: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. Provide instruction and support in the curriculum areas for which employed; make appropriate and equitable use of instructional resources and technologies; implement the goals and objectives of the district, school and/or program for which employed; maintain contact and communication with guardians/caregivers of scholars, working with them in the development of their scholar; design, deliver, and assess curriculum according to district guidelines; provide in-person, synchronous and asynchronous learning when applicable and work collaboratively with others. Willing to participate in district and building leadership activities.

Park Brook Elementary is a school with a Focus on Fitness Initiative to increase academic growth and positive behaviors. Candidates for this position must be supportive of this initiative.

  • Brain Boosts to increase movement/fitness are incorporated throughout the school day. Brain Boosts are short periods of time where students participate in exercise in the classroom, about every half-hour or forty-five minutes to prepare students for learning. Teachers at Park Brook us exercise routines or programs such as Go Noodle.
  • Kinesthetic Seating is the standard at Park Brook. While Osseo Area Schools' Building a Better Future includes new furniture to be consistent across the district. Park Brook will use new furniture, however, and accommodation is in place so that about 90% of the furniture is kinesthetic seating.
  • All staff have the opportunity to teach (paid) before school classes, after school classes, and/or weekend field trips.
  • Students in 5th grade track their fitness scores, similar to how the students track reading and math scores at Park Brook. The physical education teacher assists with tracking the fitness scores.
  • Park Brook Winter Funland is held instead of a school carnival. The Park Brook Winter Funland is a health fair, consisting of movement activities and healthy snacks.

Minimum Qualifications Include

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • MN teaching license in appropriate field, OR a valid MN teaching license in another field and willing to obtain an Out of Field Permission.*
  • If not currently licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 1 or 2.*
