TEACHER: EARLY CHILDHOOD (KINDY)
Position Details
This is a part-time temporary position commencing on 23rd July 2026 until the end of the year. There is a possiblity of the role continuing in 2027 for the sucessful applicant.
St Maria Goretti's Catholic School is a double stream school catering for students from Kindy to Year 6. The school also has a strong focus on Indigenous education which is demonstrated by the inclusion of the ‘Moort Waabiny’ Playgroup for students 0-4 years.
This position will suit a formally qualified, vibrant and enthusiastic individual who loves working in an interesting and engaging environment.
Selection Criteria
The Successful Applicant Will Be Able To Demonstrate
- Be fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education.
- Effectively use the Early Years Learning Framework (ELYF) and demonstrate familiarity with the National Quality Standards (NQS) in a play based environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated teaching team
- The importance of developing positive relations with children, staff and parents
- Knowledge of inquiry learning pedagogy would be advantageous.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- An understanding of evidence-based literacy practices, including experience with programs such as Diana Rigg and/or PreLit, would be highly valued.
- An understanding of and the ability to differentiate the teaching and learning program to cater for a variety of student needs
- Willingness to be a reflective member of a professional learning community
- Willingness to be fully involved in the school's activities
- A positive, enthusiastic and dynamic demeanour
Qualifications Required
- A recognised four year tertiary teaching qualification (Early Childhood)
- Accreditation to Teach Religious Education (willingness to obtain)
- A current TRBWA and a Working with Children registration
