Role Description The Teacher role is a full-time, on-site position located in communities within Horizon School Division. The Teacher will plan and deliver curriculum-aligned lessons, assess student learning, and provide ongoing feedback to support academic and personal growth. Daily responsibilities include classroom instruction, preparation of learning materials, maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment, and managing classroom routines. The Teacher will communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues, participate in professional learning, and contribute to school initiatives that enhance student success.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability in Teaching and Education, with experience delivering curriculum to diverse learners.
- Strong Lesson Planning and Training skills to design engaging, differentiated learning activities.
- Effective Communication skills for interacting with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
- Recognized teaching certification and/or degree in Education or a related field.
- Ability to create inclusive, safe, and caring classroom environments that support student well-being.
- Strong classroom management, organizational skills, and proficiency in using educational technology.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration within a school team.
- Experience working with PreK–12 learners and knowledge of literacy and numeracy best practices is an asset.
