Role Description This Teacher role at Learning Matters, Inc. is an on-site position located in Nashville, TN. The Teacher will provide individualized instruction to K–12 students with dyslexia and other learning differences, using research-based strategies and structured literacy approaches. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with families and team members to support student success. The teacher will participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to a supportive, inclusive learning environment that reflects the organization’s mission.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Teaching and Education skills, with experience working with K–12 students and an understanding of diverse learning needs.
- Candidates should possess Lesson Planning skills to design structured and individualized.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and colleagues, and to document progress clearly.
- Candidates should possess the ability to learn and apply evidence-based practices and participate in professional development.
- Experience or training in special education, dyslexia intervention, or structured literacy programs (e.g., Orton-Gillingham or similar approaches) is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree, Special Education, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications or licenses are a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work on-site in Nashville, TN, with reliability and professionalism.
