The Long Lake 58 First Nation Education Authority is looking to fill a crucial Special Education Teacher role for the 2026/27 school year. Engage with a population of around 120 students while focusing on cultural inclusion and key curriculum areas including Technology and Outdoor Education.
Experience with Circle of Security training or insights into Attachment Theory would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create IEPs to support individualized learning
• Provide tailored teaching strategies in an inclusive setting
• Collaborate with families and the educational team
• Implement best practices in culturally responsive pedagogy
• Remain current with professional development opportunities
Requirements:
• Registered with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
• Special Education Specialist credential or in process
• Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Appreciation for First Nations culture and traditions
