Special Education Teacher in Salem, OR

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Current opportunities include:

• Two elementary classrooms focused on developmental needs (serving students with behavioral, autism spectrum, and communication needs, with strong assistant support)
• One elementary behavior unit (Grades 3–5, collaborative team atmosphere)
• One middle school resource role (managing a caseload of 40, supported by shared assistants)
• One elementary resource role across two close-knit sites (working flexibly across buildings with dedicated aides)
• One middle school behavior classroom (intensive support with a team of assistants)

Ideal candidates will have:

• A current, active Special Education teacher certification/licensure in Oregon
• Demonstrated classroom experience supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
• A positive, adaptive approach and strong communication skills
• The ability to provide reference contact information from your most recent supervisor (required for consideration)
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for working on-site as part of a collaborative educational team

Responsibilities involve:

• Delivering individualized instruction and support tailored to IEPs
• Managing classroom environments to foster student growth and engagement
• Working closely with educational assistants
• Contributing to IEP team meetings and communications with families

These are full-time, on-site positions (37.5 hours weekly) beginning as soon as possible and extending through June 5, 2026.
