Special Education Teacher in Salem, NJ

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time, onsite role is ideal for a dedicated special education professional passionate about supporting early childhood learners with significant cognitive, developmental, or physical disabilities. Working 35 hours per week in a self-contained classroom environment, you will create and deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s unique needs, fostering growth and development in a supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with significant disabilities
• Provide direct instruction and support to meet academic, social, and developmental goals
• Collaborate with families, support staff, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive student care
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed
• Participate actively in team meetings and professional development opportunities

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid New Jersey Department of Education teaching license with a special education endorsement
• Pre-K or elementary certification is a plus
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
