•        JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Training Officer is responsible for identifying training needs, designing and developing comprehensive training programs, and delivering impactful training sessions to enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of Chokchey Finance employees. This role ensures that all training initiatives align with the company’s strategic goals, budget, and quality standards to contribute to overall employee development.

•        MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Training Needs Assessment & Planning

-       Conduct thorough training needs assessments (TNA) through job analysis, appraisal schemes, surveys, interviews, and direct consultation with staff’s immediate supervisors and department heads.

-       Support the Training Manager in developing the annual training calendar, annual training plan, and training budget, ensuring all activities are executed cost-effectively and efficiently.

2. Training Design & Materials Development

-       Formulate training designs and develop training materials (including manuals, presentations, and workshops) by identifying target participants and setting behavioral learning objectives.

-       Collaborate across departments to build training course content and determine the most appropriate training methodologies.

-       Assist in managing the e-Learning Academy to ensure learning materials are up-to-date, aligned with learning objectives, and that staff usage is tracked and reported accurately.

3. Training Delivery & Coordination

-       Provide training to newly recruited staff according to the established training curriculum, and facilitate soft skills training for employees.

-       Conduct refresher training for existing staff in alignment with the annual training plan.

-       Lead the induction/onboarding program for new staff, and coordinate all training logistics (contacting resource persons, preparing proposals/schedules for approval, and acting as a class monitor to ensure courses run effectively).

-       Conduct regular branch and field visits to adapt training materials and methods to real-world field conditions.

4. Evaluation, Follow-up & Quality Monitoring

-       Assess the capacity, competencies, and training results of newly recruited staff, following up on their skill progression with Branch Managers (BMs).

-       Collect feedback, monitor the quality of training sessions regularly, and propose actionable adjustments to improve training methodologies and quality.

-       Conduct regular training follow-ups and reporting to ensure trained staff are effectively applying their competencies in their roles.

5. Reporting & Administration

-       Maintain accurate records of all training activities, attendance, and outcomes.

-       Produce regular training reports and monthly employee training records for management review.

-       Assist in conducting the annual employee satisfaction survey.

-       Build and maintain networks with internal resource persons and external training vendors/companies.

6. Other Duties

-       Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by the Training and Development Unit Manager and the Head of HR.

•        QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

-       Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

-       Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a trainer, preferably within a development-oriented institution, microfinance, or banking sector.

-       Language & Communication: Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills, with professional proficiency in both spoken and written English.

Technical Skills

-       Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

-       Familiarity with training software, e-learning and AI tools.
