Job Context
South Point School & College is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Teacher – English to teach Grades 7 to 10 under the Cambridge curriculum. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English instruction, preparing students for Cambridge examinations, and fostering a stimulating and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with:
- Cambridge Lower Secondary English (Grades 7–10)
- Cambridge IGCSE and GCE English Language
- Develop and implement comprehensive schemes of work covering all required skills, topics, and texts.
- Create a Dynamic classroom environment that promotes
- Language development
- Critical thinking
- Literary analysis
- Effective communication
- Apply Cambridge-recommended teaching methodologies and integrate modern educational technology to support diverse learning needs.
- Prepare students for Cambridge O Level and A Level examinations, including:
- Exam techniques
- Essay writing skills
- Question pattern understanding
- Conduct regular assessments (formative and summative) in line with Cambridge standards.
- Provide constructive and detailed feedback to support student improvement.
- Maintain effective communication with parents through reports and meetings regarding student progress and well-being.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the English department to ensure a cohesive curriculum from Cambridge Lower secondary through O and A Levels.
Requirements
- Experience: 5 to 6 years
- Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s in English Language and Literature ( from a reputed university).
- Skills: Teaching, English Teaching, Cambridge curriculum school.
