SEN Tutor Jobs Across Bath & Bristol

We believe every young person deserves access to education that is tailored to their individual needs, strengths and potential.

We are currently recruiting specialist SEN Tutors to support children and young people across Bath and Bristol who require additional support outside of mainstream education.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with vulnerable learners, including pupils with:

  • SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs)
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • Anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance
  • Behavioural challenges
  • EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)

Many of the young people we support are unable to access traditional classroom environments and require personalised, relationship-based learning approaches to help them re-engage with education.

The Role

As an SEN Tutor, you will deliver tailored 1:1 or small group tuition designed around each learner's individual educational, emotional and social needs.

Sessions May Take Place

  • In schools
  • Within community settings
  • In family homes
  • In alternative provisions
  • Online where appropriate

You will play a key role in helping students rebuild confidence, develop engagement with learning and achieve positive educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering personalised 1:1 tuition sessions.
  • Supporting pupils with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
  • Working with students with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs).
  • Adapting lessons to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with young people.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and engagement with education.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress.
  • Working collaboratively with families, schools and external professionals.
  • Using creative and flexible approaches to learning.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A child-centred and nurturing approach.
  • The ability to engage hard-to-reach learners.
  • Experience adapting learning for individual needs.
