The Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Sutton
, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a range of learning difficulties
.
You will deliver highly structured, personalised learning tailored to each child’s communication style, sensory needs, and developmental stage-helping them build independence, confidence, and essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with ASD and learning needs
- Implement strategies such as visual supports, TEACCH approaches, and communication systems
- Support pupils with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory needs
- Monitor progress in both academic and life skills development
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals (e.g. SALT, OT)
- Create a calm, predictable, and nurturing classroom environment
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with pupils with ASD and/or learning difficulties
- Understanding of autism-specific strategies and approaches
- A patient, resilient, and nurturing teaching style
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Based in or within commuting distance of Sutton
