We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Kindergarten Specialist Tutor to support young learners with diverse educational needs across core academic subjects in a nurturing and engaging environment.
Role Overview
The SEN Kindergarten Specialist Tutor will work closely with kindergarten-aged students requiring additional educational support, including students with learning differences and developmental needs. The successful candidate will deliver personalized instruction across core subjects while supporting communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and foundational academic development through both 1-on-1 online and in-person sessions.
This role requires patience, creativity, adaptability, and a strong understanding of early childhood development and special educational needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized 1-on-1 online and in-person tutoring sessions across core kindergarten subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, and early learning skills
- Support students with diverse learning needs through differentiated teaching strategies and structured interventions
- Create engaging, sensory-friendly, and developmentally appropriate lesson plans tailored to each student’s learning profile
- Foster communication, social skills, confidence, emotional regulation, and positive learning behaviors
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records of academic and developmental growth
- Collaborate professionally with parents/guardians and the Simone’s Tutoring team regarding student progress and learning goals
- Identify learning barriers and adapt teaching methods to support student success
- Provide a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment for all students
- Support foundational literacy, numeracy, fine motor, and language development skills
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and consistent communication during all sessions
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree or background in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred
- Previous school teaching experience is mandatory
- Experience working with kindergarten or early primary students with special educational needs
- Strong understanding of child development and inclusive teaching practices
- Ability to teach and support students across multiple core subjects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable teaching approach
- Ability to build strong relationships with young learners and families
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Education specializing in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Dyslexia
- Training or certification in identifying early signs of speech delay and developmental delays
- ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) certification preferred
- RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification preferred
- Experience implementing individualized learning strategies and behavior support techniques
- Familiarity with sensory integration and early intervention approaches is an advantage
