About the role:
Justteachers are working with a forward‑thinking secondary school in Bury St Edmunds, who are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science specialist to join their thriving department. This is an exciting chance to make a real impact in a supportive, well‑resourced environment where staff development and student success are at the heart of everything they do.
You will deliver engaging and high‑quality lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 for the right candidate. The successful teacher will bring energy, creativity and strong subject knowledge, helping students develop curiosity, confidence and a love of Science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, high‑quality Science lessons across KS3–KS4 (and KS5 if applicable)
- Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment that promotes curiosity and scientific thinking
- Use a range of teaching strategies and practical activities to support progress in Biology, Chemistry and Physics
- Assess, track and report on student progress, identifying areas for support and challenge
- Maintain strong classroom management and uphold the school’s behaviour expectations
Pre‑requisites:
- A qualified Science Teacher (ECTs and experienced teachers welcome)
- Strong classroom management and the ability to inspire learners
- Two education or school‑based references
- A passion for Biology, Chemistry or Physics
- Commitment to raising achievement and delivering outstanding lessons
- Someone who is reliable, enthusiastic and a great team player
