Position Summary
Arab Model Schools is seeking a passionate and qualified Science Teacher to join our International Program team. The successful candidate will teach Science to students in Grades 5–7, delivering engaging, inquiry-based lessons in ENGLISH that develop students’ understanding of scientific concepts, critical thinking skills, and curiosity about the world around them.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about science education, able to create hands-on learning experiences, and committed to fostering a student-centered classroom environment aligned with international education standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons for students in Grades 5–7 using English as the language of instruction.
- Teach scientific concepts through inquiry-based, practical, and student-centered learning approaches.
- Develop students’ understanding of key scientific principles across areas such as:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Earth and Environmental Science
- Design and implement laboratory activities, experiments, demonstrations, and project-based learning experiences.
- Encourage scientific thinking, problem-solving, investigation, and real-world application of knowledge.
- Develop lesson plans, assessments, assignments, and learning resources aligned with curriculum objectives.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and learning development.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and school initiatives.
- Participate in professional development activities, faculty meetings, and school events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification or educational certification is preferred.
- Previous experience teaching Science at the middle school level (Grades 5–7) is preferred.
- Strong command of spoken and written English.
- Experience teaching within an international curriculum (American, British/Cambridge, or similar) is an advantage.
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of middle school science concepts and inquiry-based learning practices.
- Ability to design engaging experiments and hands-on science activities.
- Experience integrating educational technology into science instruction.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace for Education (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Classroom).
- Experience using digital learning platforms, simulations, and interactive science resources.
- Ability to use data and assessment results to improve student learning.
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
