Job Description

Our purpose is to help students deepen their conversion to Jesus Christ and His restored gospel, to qualify for the blessings of the temple, to prepare for missionary and Church service, and to build the kingdom of God. Church Schools provide students with an opportunity to obtain knowledge and skills that will assist them in their future educational and career endeavours.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of this role are to teach the theoretical and practical instruction of students. The successful applicant will understand the curriculum and exercise sound judgment in using it effectively. He or she will track grades and assess students’ progress according to defined criteria using student management programs.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A teaching certificate would be an advantage. Bachelor’s degree in science or related is preferred.
  • Has English language concepts and skills (verbal and written)
  • Has the ability to motivate students and increase learning
  • Is organised and hard-working, with the ability to work well with students including an understanding of proven appropriate classroom management strategies
  • Has understanding of science with particular emphasis on chemistry subject knowledge, key concepts& elements
  • Has experience with effective remediation and response to intervention practices
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills
  • Maintains temple worthiness standards
  • Police report is required
