Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role located in Amersham for a Robotics Tutor. The Robotics Tutor will be responsible for delivering engaging robotics and STEM education sessions to students across a range of age groups. This includes preparing lesson plans, demonstrating robotics concepts, guiding students in hands-on activities, providing individual support, and fostering a love for STEM in an interactive learning environment. The tutor will track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and work collaboratively with the MindSpire Labs team to enhance curriculum offerings.
Responsibilities:
● Develop and deliver engaging lessons in areas of robotics, programming, game programming and app development.
● Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
● Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
● Provide individualised support and feedback to help students achieve their learning goals.
● Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the field to ensure the curriculum remains current and relevant.
● Organise and supervise hands-on projects and activities that reinforce learning.
● Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and any concerns.
● Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in teaching Robotics and Programming to children and teenagers. Candidates with a good technology background with no formal teaching experience will also be considered.
- Experience with educational tools such as Arduino, ESP32, or other STEM-focused kits
- Strong teaching, mentorship, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to design lesson plans and implement STEM education strategies
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching and inspiring young minds
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Prior experience working with children and knowledge of age-appropriate teaching methods
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Students currently studying in these streams and passionate for teaching are highly desirable)
- A passion for STEM education and inspiring young minds
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
